Pink is shorter than the average female singer at 5 feet, 3 inches. She was born Alecia Beth Moore on September 8th in 1979 in Pennsylvania. She comes from a heritage that has its roots in Ireland, Lithuania, and Germany. Moore’s first dream growing up was to be able to take part in gymnastics at the Olympics. She spent 8 years as a gymnast, but began to turn to music as she began to write lyrics during her teenage years. Moore first began to perform at the age of 14 in several of the local clubs and two years later, she worked with two other girls to create the band Choice. However, while working with producer L.A. Reid, she was encouraged to work as a solo artist. She rebranded herself with the stage name “Pink,” which was derived from a high school nickname.
